DESCRIPTION:Story County Conservation (SCC) is pleased to announce a public meeting to gather input on an update to its Trails Master Plan. The meeting is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 1, at the new Nevada Field House, 1625 Fawcett Parkway, Nevada, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.\nSCC is committed to enhancing outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors, and the development of a comprehensive trail plan is a critical step in achieving this goal. The trail plan will outline strategies for the creation, improvement, and maintenance of trails throughout the county, catering to a variety of recreational activities, such as hiking, biking, birding, and more.\nThis public meeting will serve as a kick-off for the trail planning process and provide the first of several opportunities for community members to contribute their ideas, concerns, and suggestions regarding the county’s trails system. Residents, outdoor enthusiasts, stakeholders, and anyone interested in the development of the trail system in Story County are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussion.\nThe public meeting will operate in an open-house style, so participants can come and go as they please and share their thoughts and ideas. County officials and representatives from the planning team will be present to answer questions and provide information about the planning process.\nFor those unable to attend the meeting in person, an online platform will be available for submitting feedback and comments on the trail plan. Details on how to participate virtually will be provided closer to the meeting date.\nSCC encourages all interested individuals to participate.
