Be Prepared for Snow Emergencies
The City of Nevada’s Snow Emergency will AUTOMATICALLY be in effect whenever 1 inch or more of snow has fallen.
Welcome to Nevada!
As Mayor, it is my sincere pleasure to greet you and extend a warm welcome to our community. Nevada, Iowa is built on a rich history, vibrant traditions and a spirit of togetherness that makes everyone feel at home.
I grew up moving around the world as a military brat, and my family chose to make Nevada our home due to its inclusiveness and respect for everyone’s rights, fantastic schools, and the many opportunities for citizen participation.
Our town offers a blend of modern amenities like our new Field House and expanding trail system, along with cherished historic properties and traditions, such as Lincoln Highway Days.
Nevadans are proud of our town’s commitment to excellence in education, safety, and the overall well-being of our residents. Our dedicated teams and community leaders work tirelessly to ensure that our town remains a great place to live, work, and grow.
I encourage you to explore the neighborhoods, visit local businesses, take in a movie at the Camelot Theater, and participate in the many community events that are scheduled throughout the year. And don’t miss our last big event of each year, Christmas on Main, when Nevada embodies that “Hallmark” hometown feel!
I invite you to contact local community groups or review City website for more information on upcoming events and resources to help you settle in.
Once again, welcome to Nevada. We look forward to getting to know you and sharing the success and warmth that make our town unique. Please do not hesitate to contact my office or any local representative if you have questions or need assistance,
Warmest regards,
Ryan Condon
Mayor
