Parks & Rec Programming and City Facilities Rentals Info
The Nevada Parks and Recreation Department offers programs for all ages which include aquatics, sports, social/cultural, wellness, instructional, and special events. Nevada Parks and Recreation is also responsible for maintaining the various city parks, SCORE Recreation/Athletic Complex, Fawcett Family Aquatic Center, Pavilion, and Cemetery.
The Nevada Parks and Recreation offices are located in the northeast corner of Gates Hall at 825 15th St. Please use the doors at the northeast corner of the building to come into our offices. Office hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our staff is often busy with outside duties/jobs, so if you need to come in and speak with someone, we strongly encourage you to make an appointment. Tim Hansen has served as Director of Parks and Recreation in Nevada since June 15, 1993. A graduate of Iowa State University, Hansen served as Recreation Director at Eagle Grove before coming to Nevada.
- Rhonda MaierAssistant Parks & Recreation Director
Rhonda Maier has served as Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in Nevada since July 13, 2000. A graduate of Iowa State University, Maier previously served as a Recreation Specialist at Webster City Recreation and Public Grounds and as a Youth Activities Coordinator with the Nevada Community Resource Center.Â
