City of Nevada Announces Opening for Director of Public Safety
The City of Nevada is seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to be our next Director of Public Safety. Under administrative direction
Tim Hansen has served as Director of Parks and Recreation in Nevada since June 15, 1993. A graduate of Iowa State University, Hansen served as Recreation Director at Eagle Grove before coming to Nevada.
Rhonda Maier has served as Assistant Director of Parks and Recreation in Nevada since July 13, 2000. A graduate of Iowa State University, Maier previously served as a Recreation Specialist at Webster City Recreation and Public Grounds and as a Youth Activities Coordinator with the Nevada Community Resource Center.
Jayson Kingsbury started out in the City’s Wastewater Department as an operator from July 2019 to July 2021 when he was promoted to his current position as Building and Grounds Coordinator for Parks and Recreation. Kingsbury is a 1994 graduate of Nevada High School and has a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Management from the University of Upper Iowa. He and his wife, Stacey, have two children.
Zach Anderson is a 2013 graduate of Nevada High School and a 2017 graduate of University of Northern Iowa, where he earned a degree in leisure youth and human services. He began employment with the City in 2020.
Sarah Lancaster began working for Nevada Parks and Rec on a full-time basis on May 23, 2022. A 1997 graduate of Nevada High School, Sarah had worked in a regular part-time capacity for Parks and Rec for the past five years, doing a little bit of everything, including being an aquatic center manager.
