How to Apply

When applying for a position, you will be asked to complete a City of Nevada employment application by mail or in person. You must apply for the position by submitting all required materials by the position’s closing date.

The City will only accept applications for current job openings and no resume or applications will be kept on file.

Obtaining an Application

Applications are available any one of three ways:

  1. Online: The online application system or downloadable application materials can be accessed through each job announcement.
  2. By Mail: To request an application by mail, call (515) 382-5466 and please specify the position you wish to apply for.
  3. In person: You can pick up an application, M-F, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at: City of Nevada 1209 6th Street Nevada, IA 50201

Post Offer Requirements

Job offers are made pending a driver’s license check, medical examination, alcohol/drug testing, and/or a polygraph/background investigation. If offered a job, before starting work with the City, you will be required to present identification and work authorization papers.
