Voting Information

To be eligible to vote, you must be 18 years of age or older, be a citizen of the United States, reside in Story County, and register 10 days immediately preceding an election. A resident may register to vote up to 11 days prior to an election if it’s a City, Special, or School election, and up to ten (10) days if it’s a Primary or General election by completing a registration form and submitting it to the County Auditor (because the auditor’s office is in Nevada, these forms cannot be submitted to Nevada City Hall, even though most city halls do accept them). Absentee ballots can be secured at the County office or requested by mail. For further information, please call the County Auditor at 515-382-7210.

National Council on Aging Emergency Preparedness Guide

While many Americans may have a general readiness plan for emergencies in their homes, these plans often don’t consider particular circumstances, such as limited mobility or barriers to communication. The NCOA created an Emergency Preparedness Guide, to help older Americans feel prepared should disaster strike.
