Cory Harmon begins working with the City Streets Department today.
Cory is a Nevada native and a 2007 graduate of Nevada High School. He’s worked mostly in the flooring industry since high school, but said he got a CDL last year, hoping to eventually get a position with the City or County so he could work in his home community.
“I like the guys that work in the streets department. I’ve known most of them for a while. I also know people in the police department and other City departments, and I think it will be neat to be part of the City team and the community. Nevada is where I want to be.”
Cory said people will find him to be dedicated and approachable, and he likes working with things that are hands-on. He looks forward to the challenge of learning to operate various types of equipment and doing new tasks.
Cory and his wife, Kirsten, have two children, ages 6 and 4. When he’s not working, his favorite pastime is hunting. He also enjoys fishing, golfing, camping, and basically anything outdoors. And as his children get into activities, he loves attending the things they’re involved in.
Help us welcome Cory to the City team!
