JEFFERSON, Iowa – Jan. 30, 2024 – If you travel on Story County Road S-14 near U.S. 30 in Nevada, you need to be aware of a traffic pattern change that could affect your trip.
On Wednesday morning, Jan. 31, weather permitting, crews will open the new Story County Road S-14 bridge over U.S. 30. The recreation trail on the new bridge will be completed later this spring and the recreation trail will open at that time.
The at-grade intersection of South 6th Street at U.S. 30 will remain open.
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
