DESCRIPTION:7-10 a.m. — Firefighters’ annual Pancake Breakfast at the fire station. Free-will donation will be accepted.\n\n8 a.m. — Freedom Run at Billy Sunday Field area (go to runnevada.org for more information)\n\n8:30-10 a.m. — Bricktown Bakery’s Bike Parade. Decorate yourself and your bike to compete for a donut prize package. $250 grand prize for the most patriotic bike and rider to show up and register by\n9 a.m. All kids get a donut for entering. All participants are also invited to be in the big 4th of July Parade!\n\n10 a.m. — American Legion’s Annual 4th of July Parade, from E to N Avenue on Sixth Street. Gather along E Avenue between 7th and 8th Streets to sign in prior to the parade. There is no entry fee. Two prizes, with a total value of $250, will be awarded to the best patriotic parade entry and to the “best patriotic dressed” person (any age) who is in or attending the parade! You must be present at the 10:45 a.m. post-parade gathering in front of the American Legion (see below) to win!\n\n10:45 a.m. (approximate time following parade) — Post Parade Gathering — All residents are invited to gather in front of the American Legion to see a special patriotic “Salute to Service” display that will be unveiled along Sixth Street. Free birthday cake will be served at this gathering in celebration of our nation’s 250th birthday!\n\n11 a.m. — American Legion Auxiliary’s Annual Chicken and Noodles Luncheon with other fixings and pie and ice cream for dessert at the American Legion Hall! Cost is $12 for adults, $5 for children age 10 and under.\n\n12:30 p.m. — Historic Movie at the Camelot Theater that celebrates highways, such as our historic Jefferson and Lincoln Highways. “Horatio’s Drive: America’s First Road Trip,” a Ken Burns’ PBS movie about early transportation and a man’s drive across America prior to having all the roads we enjoy today, will be shown. Admission is free.\n\nTake an afternoon break and spend time with family!\n\n6-8 p.m. — Thank You for Your Service Display — On this, the 250th anniversary of our Independence, the Nevada Historical Society wishes to recognize and show gratitude to all those who fought for our freedoms. We will be honoring all branches of the military with a military exhibit on July 4th at Evergreen Lane. The house will be open for tours and viewing of the exhibit. You are also welcome to view the fireworks from our property. (DO NOT bring your own fireworks to Evergreen Lane.)\n\n8 p.m. — Pre-Fireworks Snacks with Rasmusson-Ryan Funeral Home &amp; Crematory, located along Fawcett Parkway. Enjoy free popcorn, sno-cones, and bottled water.\n\n8:30 p.m. — Root Beer Float Stand at Memorial Lutheran Church on 11th Street. A stand will be set up in the church courtyard (east side of the building). Free-will donations will be accepted.\n\nDusk — Fireworks Show with display initiating from the west side of SCORE Park in the vicinity of the soccer fields.\n\n
