About YOU
How long have you been involved in this business? 2 years, (first year as an intern)
What is your own professional background? Graduated from the University of Iowa in 2024 with degrees in finance and risk management & insurance, worked as a farm hand during summers 2021-2022
Others who are working with you on this project and their titles? Karie Ramsey-CEO, Tony Dressen -Director of Construction, Mark Lee- Civil Engineer, Tyler Dillenberg -Operations manager. And the City of Nevada and Nevada Dev LLC (neighbors/North View developers).
About the PROJECT:
Is your project/housing already established, in the process of being established, or completed and already has people living in it? The project plans have been approved by the city, we were closing on the land the week of July 7, and have an anticipated start of site work this fall
What is the timeline for completion of your project? Typically, our projects take 12-18 months to begin moving people into our homes
If you have built or are constructing something for housing, who else is substantially involved in the process or development? The City of Nevada is helping facilitate future growth for Nevada by entering into a development agreement with us to upgrade/ extend an 18-inch sewer main to the north of Sierra Heights. This upgrade will allow future development to other sites in the area. Nevada Dev/Northview has entered into an agreement with Kading and the City to split the costs of constructing a trail that will circle around a new pond.
Where, in the community, is your project located? Sierra Heights will be adjacent to the Northview Development , east of W 3rd Street and south of T Avenue.
How many housing units will this project provide? If this is a subdivision, how many acres are you developing? Sierra Heights will have a total of 138 townhome units and will occupy approximately 17 acres.
What type of housing does this project provide? Market-rate, workforce housing
What do you feel is special about the location of your housing? The site is a quick commute from many major employers in Nevada. We will be connecting R Avenue to W 3rd Street, creating a new and convenient commute option. By working with the city and Nevada Dev, we will be adding a great amenity with the new trail.
What types of amenities do you provide with your housing? We are pet friendly, so we install pet waste stations throughout our developments. Each unit has its own front door, attached garage, and driveway. We will have additional guest parking spaces. In addition to the trail that we are partnering with the city and Nevada Dev on, we will be installing additional trail around Sierra Heights. Laundry hookups, range, stove, and refrigerator are provided. Our homes will be zero-step access, making them open and accessible to everyone.
What population(s) is best served by the housing you are providing? We serve a multitude of community members. We house many employees working in manufacturing, education, healthcare, public service, food production, and many retired folks.
Was any grant funding supplied to help make this project possible? City of Nevada is providing an economic development grant to allow for the construction of the upgraded sewer.
What do you love about having a business/project in the City of Nevada? What makes this a desirable community for people to live in? Nevada was selected as one of our Hometown Tour destinations in 2024. Our team spent a whole day talking with city officials, employers, and community members about Nevada’s housing needs. It is clear that all of these parties are dedicated to seeing Nevada grow and thrive. I am very impressed by everyone’s willingness to collaborate to create a better future for Nevada.
What else would you like to share about your housing/project? We are extremely excited to become long-time community members of Nevada. We develop, construct, and manage with the intention of taking care of community members and will stay with the development long term. We have never sold one of our developments and plan to support Nevada by participating in events and joining local organizations.
