Wastewater Treatment Facility

Project Description: Construction of a Wastewater Treatment Facility to perform nutrient removal, specifically Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR), and handle flow/loading spikes.

The City of Nevada is accepting bids for Phase 3 of the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements.

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has completed an environmental review for the location of the new wastewater treatment facility. They have issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI). Documentation is available online at: A comment period is available through Nov. 26, 2020.

This lift station will be what pumps the entire City’s wastewater from town out to the new treatment plant. It will have 4 pumps that will pump wastewater through 2 14 inch force mains that will go into a structure south of highway 30 where it will gravity flow to the new treatment plant.
