Spring No-Charge Yard Waste Day in East Ames

Story County residents can dispose of yard waste at no charge during the Spring No-Charge Yard Waste Day planned for Saturday, April 18, at a new location. The drop-off site is 309 Carnegie Ave.

Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This yard waste drop-off day will include grass and leaves.

For residents of Nevada who wish to take part, when you enter Ames on Lincolnway from the east, turn north on Dayton Avenue, then turn west on Edison Street. Follow the signs to the site. To exit, you will follow Carnegie Avenue south to Lincolnway. (See map below.)

Yard waste should not be thrown into the trash and is not accepted at the Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Chantland Ave.

Map shows how Nevada residents can get to site going to Dayton Avenue, north to Edison Street, west to Whitney Avenue, north to Pullman Street, and west to 309 Carnegie. Then exiting to Edison Street and south on Carnegie Avenue to Lincolnway.
