Business Profile: New nail salon to open in Nevada

This Saturday, Aug. 22, All Seasons Nail Salon will open in Nevada.

Business owners, Tuan Dao and Dang Luu, husband and wife, are excited to open their business in the office suites on the north end of Sixth Street.

Not only is the couple opening a business, they have also moved their family to Nevada from their longtime home in Des Moines. They were lucky to find a house right across the street from their business.

All Seasons Nail Salon is located in Suite 101, 1316 Sixth Street, in the same space that held a nail salon several years ago. Their suite is one of 10 rental spots in the old Van Wall building, which owner Dave Sly said is now full.

Tuan and Dang have worked in the nail business for most of their life.

Tuan said they’d been driving around looking for an opportunity to start a business in a smaller town and came through Nevada. As they talked with a local Realtor, they became aware of Sly’s business location, which still had pedicure chairs available that were left by the previous occupants.

“The pedicure chairs were here, the plumbing was ready, and the electric was ready,” Tuan said, “which saved us a lot of money.”

“It is great to have a nail salon back in our building,” said Sly. “We made a substantial investment in the facility (office complex), and the community strongly supported it. I have a lot of confidence in our new husband and wife team and am excited about their recent move to Nevada.”

As they open this week, the couple will have a few special discounts/deals for those seeking nail services. They also will offer frequent customer cards that allow patrons to receive a discount after every six nail appointments.

Pedicures and manicures are the basic services they’ll offer, and depending on products and details, these services will run anywhere from $15 for a regular manicure to $35 for dip nails and $30 and up for pedicures. They will also do acrylics. So far, they have more than 500 color choices on hand. The couple will also offer waxing services.

Tuan said they would be starting a Facebook page soon with pictures of the variety of ways they can do nails. The page will also allow people to reach them. They anticipate having many people set appointments, but will also take walk-ins as each day allows. They can be reached by phone at 515-988-1156.

Hours for the salon are Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sundays, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. They will be closed on Mondays.

Their number-one goal is to help people feel good. “Happy and pretty,” Dang said, is how they want their customers to feel.

In addition to being business owners, Tuan and Dang are also busy parents. They have five children: a son in college, a son age 14, twin girls age 8 and a son age 3.

As they open this weekend, they advise all the needed COVID-19 measures will be in place at their salon, including the requirement for all customers to wear a facemask inside the salon. If you don’t have a face mask, they have a large basket of cloth face masks to choose from for $3 each.
