The City Water Department will be flushing hydrants in May. Because of line flushing, residents in the immediate vicinity of the work may experience temporary discoloration of their water or lower water pressure. The discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and air. It does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration after crews have flushed your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all faucets with cold water for a few minutes.
