Iowa DOT releases an upcoming closure at Hwy 30 and S-14

If you travel on westbound U.S. 30 in Nevada, you need to be aware of an upcoming bridge construction project that may slow down your trip.
On Tuesday and Wednesday nights, Oct. 17 and 18, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., weather permitting, crews will place beams on the Story County Road S-14 bridge over westbound U.S. 30. This will require closing the roadway so crews can safely set bridge beams.
While westbound U.S. 30 is closed, you will follow a marked detour in Nevada using 610th Avenue/Southwest 18th Street, Lincoln Highway/Story County Road E-41, and South 19th Street (see map at this link: https://www.news.iowadot.gov/files/nevada-s14-detour-1.pdf).
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
