HYDRANT FLUSHING LOCATION UPDATES

This week, starting today, hydrants on the east side of Nevada will be flushed as part of our routine fall maintenance. Workers will start at 8th St/N Avenue and work to the east on hydrants located between the north and south tracks.
You may experience colored water during this maintenance work. Just run cold water until it clears. The water is still fine to drink, and IF you are caught washing clothes, and they become discolored, our water department makes available a solution that can be used on WHITES to remove the discoloration. That solution is given out FREE and can be picked up at the front office of City Hall during our normal open hours WHILE SUPPLY LASTS.
MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, AFTERNOON UPDATE
We have another update today: Water department worker Charlie Starbuck has begun flushing 7th Street hydrants in the main part of town. Charlie plans to flush hydrants in the early morning (before most businesses open) on 6th Street tomorrow, October 10. Charlie from there, will focus on hydrants in the area of town going west from 6th Street between the tracks. He expects the work on this part of town to take all of this week and possibly run into early next week. If you see Charlie out and about, tell him you appreciate his work!
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 11, MORNING UPDATE
Our Water Department workers will be starting to flush hydrants today south of the south railroad tracks between 7th and 11th streets. They will continue toward Highway 30, eventually getting into the Fawcett Parkway area and South B area this week.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 12, MORNING UPDATE
While we still have one worker on the west side of Nevada working, another worker is finishing flushing in the South B area today and will be moving south of Highway 30, into the southeast quadrant of town for flushing, depending on weather conditions.
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 17, MORNING UPDATE
Our water employees will be finishing areas from last week this morning, and by later today they will begin flushing hydrants in these areas of town:
Neighborhoods north of the north tracks
Westwood neighborhood in west Nevada
Neighborhoods south of 30 in the southwest portion of town
Later this week, they plan to get to the Knoll Ridge area in the west part of town.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 19, EVENING UPDATE
Water workers will complete the flushing of hydrants tomorrow in the Knoll Ridge area (west of S-14).
