Harmony receives grant from McFarland Clinic

Harmony Clothing Closet in Nevada was one of 10 area Community Grant recipients through McFarland Clinic’s Trusted Choice Honors program.

As part of the clinic’s annual staff recognition program, McFarland awards $10,000 in grants to local nonprofit organizations nominated by McFarland providers and employees.

Harmony Clothing Closet will receive $1,000.

Grants were also awarded to nonprofits in Webster City, Boone, Breda, Story City, Marshalltown, Garwin, Iowa Falls, Ames, and Wall Lake.

Harmony Clothing Closet, which gives out free clothing and some household items to anyone who “shops” in the store, has been filling this need for the people of Nevada and surrounding communities since May of 2007, when it opened at the Nevada Community Resource Center and shortly after moved to a house located by the Nevada Middle School. In 2010, Harmony moved to its current location at 1122 Sixth Street.
