New this year on the Fawcett Family Aquatic Center lifeguard staff is Isabelle Nelson, 16, who live in the rural Ames area, but attends school in Nevada. She will be a junior at Nevada High School this fall.
Isabelle is the daughter of Andrea and Richard Nelson and she has five siblings. Two of her siblings are older than her: Grace, 22, and Henry, 20. Three of her siblings are younger than her: John, 15; George, 11, and Frederic (Freddy), 8.
At Nevada High School Isabelle stays active in FFA, Student Council, National Honor Society, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
She said she really loves her lifeguarding job. She loved swimming as a kid, so being able to work in that environment is “nice.” She loves that the aquatic center managers and staff are all so nice, helpful, and flexible.
