Meet FFAC Concession/Cashier Will Clausen

Age and grade? 14, will be a freshman at Nevada High School in the fall

Parents? Sara and Troy Clausen

Job at FFAC? Concessions and cashier, it’s my first year.

What do you like most about working at FFAC? It’s not super-challenging, and I get a lot of hours in, so that’s nice. I also get to see a lot of my friends who come out to swim.

What do you like most about FFAC? I like swimming out here too. I like going off the diving board and using the slides.

Can you believe FFAC is 20 years old? Is it still a cool place to be? Oh yeah. It’s still cool, it’s still great! When I was younger, I had fun here. I still think it’s pretty fun.

What’s the most ordered item at the concessions stand? Today (it was in the high 80s, low 90s), it’s definitely the ice cream malt cup. Pretzel bites with cheese and salt are also a favorite.

What do you see people getting most from the healthier menu items? Fresh fruits. They like apples and bananas and apples and peanut butter.

What’s the most common question you get at the concession stand? “Do you take a card?” and “Do you have a Band-Aid?” We don’t take cards, just cash or checks. We do have Band-Aids we can give people. We just document it.

Would you like to someday become a lifeguard? Yes. I think I’ll try it in the future, but I won’t be able to do it for at least two years, because of my age.

What else are you busy with this summer? A lot of football workouts and hanging out with friends.
