What is your age and grade in school? I am 18 years old and will be a freshman at Wartburg College next year.

What is your position and number of years at Fawcett Family Aquatic Center? I am a head lifeguard (one of two) and this is my second year working there.
What do you love most about this job? Being outside and getting to interact with kids on a daily basis.
What else do you enjoy doing in the summer? I also enjoy working out and playing baseball.
Do you have other family members who have worked for Parks and Rec? Yes, my older brother used to be a groundskeeper when he was in high school. My sister Ella is also a lifeguard, and my brother Alec works in the concession stands.
What is the most important thing you learned in training? To always be prepared so when a stressful situation comes you will know what to do.
What is your favorite concession stand item? ice cream sandwich
What is your favorite station for lifeguarding at the pool? My favorite station at the pool is the red chair because it’s comfortable and you get to watch people jump off the diving board.
What do you say most when you are working? The most common thing I say to kids is to not stand on the island in the shallow area.
FFAC is in its 20th season of operation – do you think it’s still a great place to enjoy time? Yes, I have loved working for the FFAC for the last few years and will be looking forward to coming back.
