Meet Jenny Tufford Concession/Cashier

How long have you lived in Nevada? My entire life except living in Louisiana for a year.

Did you graduate from Nevada High School; if so, what year? Yes, I graduated in 1993.

Do you work in another job besides this summer gig? I will be starting my 9th year for the Nevada Community School District in September, and I also work part-time at Ben Franklin (it will be 6 years in July)

What is your job at FFAC? How many years have you done this job? Mostly working at the front desk, but on the lucky days I get to work the top of the slides, that’s a fun job!! This is my first year at FFAC.

What do you enjoy most about your summer job? Seeing all of the smiles on kids’ faces (parents too) being outside, and the atmosphere. It’s a fun place to work.

What else do you enjoy doing in the summer months? Being outside, doing things with my two daughters and two grandkids. This summer we are planning a wedding, my oldest is getting married!!

Do you have or have you ever had other members of your family working for Parks and Rec? Yes, my brother Joe Mousel was the park maintenance supervisor for many years and is now the Street Superintendent for the City, and my sister-in-law Erin is the activities coordinator.

What’s the most important thing you learned in your training for this job? Everything I learned is important, from applying a Band-Aid to make a little (one) feel better to performing CPR & saving a life. It’s all important

Do you have a favorite item at the concession stand? Pretzel Bites. Pretzel Bites are not good for the diet!!

What do you say to kids most often when you’re working? Stop running and please don’t sit/hang on that bar (in the entry way of the pool).

FFAC is in its 20th season of operation. Do you think it’s still a great place to enjoy time? Yes. I love the set up and the way the pool was designed. It’s easy to see the kiddos and there’s a lot of space even on crowded days!!
