Project Description: Construction of a Wastewater Treatment Facility to perform nutrient removal, specifically Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR), and handle flow/loading spikes.
The City of Nevada is accepting bids for Phase 3 of the Wastewater Treatment Facility Improvements.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has completed an environmental review for the location of the new wastewater treatment facility. They have issued a Finding of No Significant Impact (FNSI). Overall, the entire WWTF Improvement Project construction costs are 11 percent below the final design planning costs. The total construction cost to date is less than 1 percent above the total original bid costs due to change orders encountered. In the engineer’s experience, the typical change order percentage for a project of this scope, magnitude, and duration is between 3 and 5 percent.
