City of Ames gives notice of construction, and two upcoming road closures

Starting Date: Weather permitting, beginning Monday, November 28
.
The City of Ames has contracted with Keller Excavating for the next phase of construction for new utilities of the Prairie View Industrial area. This phase of the project will include water main and sanitary sewer along the north edge of East Lincolnway from Teller Avenue (580th Street) to Potter Avenue (590th Street).

Work will begin with the closure on Teller Avenue (580th Street) just north of East Lincolnway. This closure will allow for trenching through Teller Avenue for the placement of water main and sanitary sewer. The anticipated duration for the Teller Avenue closure and the completion of open trenching is 3 weeks.

Once complete, there will be another closure on East Lincolnway from Teller Avenue (580th Street) to Potter Avenue (590th Street) to continue trenching along East Lincolnway. This closure is anticipated to begin January 2, 2023. This will be a moving operation, requiring an extended closure over the winter months.

Action Required by Residents: Please use the signed detour route and follow posted speed limits. Speeds along East Lincolnway will be reduced during active construction.

This is subject to revisions as necessary but provides an idea of the project location.
