The Ames Fire Department will conduct a controlled burn tomorrow, Friday, August 30, along the Lincoln Highway between Nevada and Ames, near 580th Avenue (Teller Avenue).
We ask that residents be aware that this is a planned endeavor! If you see flames and smoke coming from this location, you do not need to alert emergency crews.
We also ask that you travel carefully through this area while the controlled burn happens. The highway will be open, but please do not stop along the roadway to take photos or to watch. Also, note that no one, other than the crews taking part, is allowed on the property during this exercise.
