If you travel on Story County Road S-14/Southwest 3rd Street south of U.S. 30 in Nevada, you need to be aware of an upcoming road paving project that may slow down your trip.
From 7 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, until Friday, Oct. 20, weather permitting, construction crews will close Story County Road S-14/Southwest 3rd Street south of U.S. 30 between 250th Street and West Maple Avenue so they can work on paving from the existing roadway to the new overpass over U.S. 30.
While work is taking place, you will follow a marked detour route south of the work zone (see map).
Help keep everyone on the road safer. Drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, you should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
