The one thing Delaina Derry wanted for her 8th Birthday (today, Aug. 18) was to meet a police officer.
This afternoon, that birthday wish came true. Delaina’s mom, Amanda Walton, brought her to the Nevada Public Safety Department offices and she met Officer Ryan Hutton.
Ryan, in Delaina’s words, “was cool” and not only did she get to meet him. She also got a tour of the police department offices, which were bigger than she thought they would be.
To further celebrate her birthday, she shared, there will be the treat of birthday cake – chocolate – that she made herself with the help of her mom.
