An appeal has been made with the Board of Adjustment of the City of Nevada, Iowa, by The Camelot Theater Foundation to upgrade to LED lighting on the marquee of the existing building at the property of 1114 6th St., legally described as:
The West 78 feet of the North 18 feet of the South 40 feet of Lot five (5), all in Block Three (3), Original Town of Nevada, Story County, Iowa, subject to covenants, conditions, restrictions, and easements of record.
The building official was required, under the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, to deny the building permit because the proposed construction did not comply in all respects with the terms of the Chapter 165 (Land Development-zoning regulations, specifically 165..20 (Sign regulations [Tables 165.20-2. ]). Pursuant to Section 121.1209, Code of Ordinances of Nevada, Iowa, 2003, the Board of Adjustment, after public hearing, may permit exceptions to the district regulations to authorize the proposed construction.
A public hearing will be held by the Board of Adjustment on the 13th Day of October, 2026, at 10:00 o’clock A.M., in the City Council Chambers in City Hall at 1209 6th Street, at which time you may submit your views on the matter in person, in writing, or by representative.
If you know of any interested property owner who, for any reason, has not received a copy of this Notice, it would be greatly appreciated if you would inform them of the time and place of the hearing.
Respectfully submitted,
