Allie Dittmer, 15, is a new lifeguard at Fawcett Family Aquatic Center this summer.
Allie, who is the daughter of Ralph and Vanessa Dittmer of Nevada, is going to be a sophomore at Nevada High School this fall. She has one older sibling, her brother Tyler, who graduated from Nevada High School this year and will attend Upper Iowa University, where he plans to play football.
In school, Allie is involved in volleyball, dance team and tennis.
During the summer, when she’s not working, she enjoys hanging out with friends or attending dance and volleyball workouts.
Her favorite thing about lifeguarding is “being outside and being around the water. Even watching others in the water gives me something to do that I enjoy,” she said. She added that the most important thing she’s learned from this job is the importance of teamwork and communication. “The pool can’t work without both of those things.”
Next time you visit FFAC, say “hi” to Allie!
