Nevada Police stop the Grinch who tried to steal Christmas (packages)

Nevada residents reported a flurry of activity with stolen packages throughout the community. Deliveries started to be reported taken around Dec. 3. The police took several reports throughout the week.

Officers responded to a residence when home owners reported someone walked up and delivered packages they had previously reported stolen. The phones started ringing as neighbors in several neighborhoods reported a very unusual “delivery person” was delivering previously stolen packages. Police located the vehicle after the occupant asked a real delivery person in a FedEx truck how to handle delivery of a package if the label was ripped off.

A search warrant was obtained and two remaining stolen packages were recovered. Detective Henderson and Officer Reynolds returned stolen packages to the joyful intended recipients.

Thank you to those neighbors and some great doorbell cameras for helping us deliver Christmas to the rightful owners.

The Ewing family sent a picture saying thanks for recovering their $148 set of personalized Christmas cards. That was the one item they thought was lost forever. It was appreciated. It was recovered in a vehicle after being reported stolen around 12-3-2020.
