Planting Hope Tree Giveaway

Distribution Parking Lot Highlighted in Yellow

Thanks to the Wright Foundation for Sustainability and Innovation, an anonymous donor, and countless individual donations, Trees Forever and local partner Nevada Parks and Recreation are hosting a free tree distribution to help grow and strengthen the local tree canopy.

Trees provide countless benefits to homeowners, including lower heating and cooling costs, increased property values, and aesthetic beauty. These trees are in 3-gallon containers and will be roughly 2-5 feet in size. Studies have shown that smaller trees quickly catch up to larger ones planted simultaneously because of a shorter period of establishment and tend to be healthier overall.

Trees are free to anyone living in a Derecho-affected county. The giveaway will take place on October 18, 2022 in the parking lot west of the Fawcett Family Aquatic Center, 1717 Fawcett Parkway, Nevada, IA. from 4-7 p.m. Five species (Red Oak, Swamp White Oak, Hackberry, Sycamore, and Kentucky Coffeetree) are available on a first-come, first served basis. There is a limit of two trees per vehicle. For those living outside Nevada and arriving from Hwy 30, take the 19th street exit (McDonald’s, Caseys) north to Fawcett Parkway, and follow the signs.

We are excited to provide trees to private residents! Please join us for this great event and plant new trees on your property.
