For those of you who travel Lincoln Highway between Nevada and Ames, the latest road closure information has been passed along from the City of Ames.
The City of Ames is planning to close 580th Avenue, north of Lincoln Highway, on or around Monday, Nov 14. It sounds like 580th, south of Lincoln Highway, will stay open during this phase.
The closure is expected to last 2 to 3 weeks, and when this phase is done, they will close Lincoln Highway from 580th to 590th. This Lincoln Highway closure could last for months. Traffic will need to use 600th Avenue as the detour to Hwy 30. With the upcoming change in weather, the much colder temperatures could change this schedule a bit, but we are passing along what could generally be expected on Lincoln Highway this winter.
