The City of Nevada is pleased to announce that the annual Community Fireworks Display at SCORE (along 19th Street) will happen on the 4th of July, beginning at dusk.
The Community Fireworks Display will be put on by an outside contractor. Members of the Nevada Fire Department will provide support and help with cleanup, and members of the Nevada Police Department will assist with road closures.
The fireworks committee, which included several city representatives, is pleased to move forward, but stipulates the following conditions:
–People will be responsible for their actions. The city will strongly encourage social distancing and wearing of facemasks. The city will encourage people to stay in their vehicles when possible. If you are sick, please stay home.
–No fireworks or sparklers of any kind will be allowed at SCORE park. If you violate this rule, you will be asked to leave. Fireworks and sparklers can cause injury to people, and if left behind, they can be run over by mowers and cause injuries to pets that run through the grass.
–The City will consider one-way traffic along Fawcett Parkway that evening, to allow for more parking along one side of that road. Volunteers will be needed to help direct traffic near the Justice Center corner and the corner of Fawcett Parkway and 19th Street.
The Fireworks Committee hopes to create a list of possible places where people can park and view the fireworks display. Please watch this page for that information.
