Why is Nevada’s downtown area being repainted?

City Building and Zoning Official Ryan Hutton is shown with a few pieces of paint that pulled away from the road surface in recent months. Ryan explained that the paint first used at the completion of the downtown construction project was not adhering properly to the road surface and was breaking away in many places. So, at no additional expense to the City, the contractor has come in this spring to repaint all the lines in the downtown using a paint that should now adhere and hold for up to four years, and hopefully longer.
The City appreciates the public’s patience as we correct the paint issue in the downtown area!
